Nippon fine china tray with 5 salts, celery tray, hand painted gold moriage

a lovely fine china tray with a set of 5 matching bowls also known as "open salts." Originally intended for celery or other crudite with salt for dipping in bowls. I think this would be an elegant tray for sushi with small wasabi and soy sauce bowls or even fruit with individual bowls of tajin for dipping. With a sweet yellow and orange floral design and moriage along the edge. In very good antique condition with only the barest color loss in the leaves next to handles. Otherwise very vibrant and without chips. Measures 12" long and 5.25" wide with each plate just over 2" long. Marked "Nippon" on the underside. A lovely piece of turn of the century porcelain.
