DetailsAn exuberant oil on canvas painting by modernist painter Henri d'Anty. Thick impasto layers of deep color bring vibrant emotion as well as an almost enamel like shine to this fine-feathered parrot perched on a branch.
A native of Paris, artist d'Anty's began drawing and painting as a child. His other mid century works were exhibited at the le Petit Palais in Paris and other pieces are on display at the Musée Toulouse-Lautrec à Albi, the Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec, and at the Chrysler Museum of Art.
In very good vintage condition with the craquelure distinctive of d'Anty's use of thick paint. Unframed. Measures 25.5" tall and 21" wide.
