Pair of Antique Astronomy Lithographs; Sun, Moon, The Seasons, Tides, Refraction, Parallax and more! Cerulean Blue

A beautiful pair of engraved lithographs from an early 20th century school book. With exquisite detail they show the celestial bodies at work. "Figure 1 Day and Night" displays the dance of the earth around the sun throughout the year and the zodiac. Includes notations on the tides, in case you were curious about that too. The second framed print shows the "Circles & Diurnal Movements of the Celestial Sphere," phases of the Moon, "inferior planets" and the appearances of Saturn's rings. Also refraction and parllax, so the universe is pretty much covered here. The golden glow of the sun pops off the cerulean blue back ground. Bottom of both prints read "Engraved, Printed and Published by W& A.K. Johnston, Ltd, Edinburgh. & London.
In very good vintage condition with the crease from the text book it came from still visible. In plain black wood frame with plexiglass. A lovely addition to any decor or a unique gift for your favorite planet nerd.
