Kitten Pair, Tabby Cats, watercolor illustration by Gladys Emerson Cook, mid century

Look out, it's a double trouble pair of identical tabby kittens! They pose very innocently for the picture, but I imagine their people had a hard time keeping them from climbing the curtains. The different colors on their too big collars probably made it easier to know who to scold, although I bet that wasn't very effective. The illustrator Gladys Emerson Cook had a gift for capturing the spirits of our animal friends and this lovely charcoal print is no exception. In excellent vintage condition. For some reason my phone camera washed out the back ground in some of the photos I included here; it should read as a warm buttery yellow. Distortions of color in these photos are merely the reflection of me taking the photo. In a simple but attractive walnut frame, ready for hanging. Measures 15.5" tall and 12.74" wide. Would make an excellent addition to any decor or a great gift for you favorite twin and/or cat person.
