Garden Flower Oil Painting, vintage, dahlias and zinnias, floral

an exuberant explosion of garden flowers on an inky background makes for a lush floral still life. Rich saturated colors and quick brush strokes capture the energy of summer zinnias, dahlias and lilies (or maybe it's a trillium, not sure what to call the flower on the bottom left). The blue-black background has an almost velvet painting feel and the over-the-top vibe of the flowers is unabashedly tacky - but who can resist such enthusiasm? With abundant foliage and weeds, the painting teems with life. No clue about the artist, though, which is a pity.

I'm guessing this painting is not too old (1990's maybe? early 2000's?), judging from the paint and the staples used to stretch the canvas to the backing. Wish I knew more about it but I hope you can enjoy this vibrant floral still life!

In great vintage condition. Measures 15.75" wide and 20" tall, not framed.
